In Greene County district court Dalton Zachariah Haggerty, 25, of Pace, FL, was sentenced to two days in jail after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of operating while intoxicated- first offense. He may complete the Des Moines Area Community College 48-hour alcohol education program in lieu of the jail time. He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense, and he must complete a community college drinking driver’s program. Haggerty was fined $1,250 with a $437.50 surcharge; one-half will be waived if he obtains a temporary restricted license. He must pay a $10 surcharge for drug abuse resistance education (DARE). Brock Michael Igou, 20, of Fort Dodge was granted a deferred judgment after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana. He was placed on informal probation for one year, and he must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense. All but seven days of the jail term was suspended and he was placed on probation to Greene/Boone County Probation for one year. He may complete the DMACC 48-hour alcohol education program in lieu of two days of the jail time. He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense. Hurley was fined $1,875 with a $656.25 surcharge; one-half will be waived if he obtains a temporary restricted license. Lucas Michaeil Wolfe, 26, of Carroll was sentenced to two years in prison after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of sex offender registry violation. The prison term was suspended and he was placed on probation to the Iowa Department of Corrections for one year. Wolfe was fined $625 with a $218.75 surcharge. Court costs were $315.45. Carly Jene Hubby, 41, of Jefferson was sentenced to two years in prison after she changed her plea to guilty to a charge of possession of methamphetamine- second offense. The prison term was suspended and she was placed on probation to Greene/Boone County Probation for one year. She must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at her own expense. Hubby was fined $625 with a $218.75 surcharge; both were suspended. She must pay a $10 DARE surcharge, a $125 LEI surcharge and $144.20 court costs. A case in magistrate court in which Hubby was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia was dismissed. Leigha Irene Welch, 27, of Toledo was sentenced to two years in prison after she changed her plea to guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana- third or subsequent offense, and 30 days in jail after she changed her plea to guilty to a charge of illegal possession of a prescription drug. The prison term was suspended. The jail term was not suspended but Welch will be given credit for time served. She was fined $625 with a $218.75 surcharge on the marijuana charge and $315 with a $110.25 surcharge on the prescription drug charge; the fine and surcharge were suspended on both counts. She must pay a $125 LEI surcharge on both counts and a $10 DARE surcharge on the marijuana count. She must pay restitution for her court appointed attorney not to exceed $1,200. Nicholas Weber, 19, of Jefferson was sentenced to one year in jail after he pleaded guilty to a charge an accommodation offense, amended from possession of marijuana with intent to deliver. All but 10 days of the jail time was suspended. The sentence is consecutive to a jail sentence in two other cases. Weber was placed on probation to the Iowa Department of Corrections for two years. He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense. He was fined $315 with a $110.25 surcharge, a $10 DARE surcharge, and a $125 LEI surcharge. In a separate case, Weber was sentenced to 180 days in jail after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana. The jail time was suspended; if it is imposed it will be served concurrent to the sentence in a felony cases. Weber was placed on probation to the Iowa Department of Corrections for two years. School, 64, of Scranton, O- first offense, possession of marijuana and possession of methamphetamine; and Kenneth Lee Molle, 81, of Jefferson, OWI- first offense. Trial dates were set for May 12 for all defendants except Ortiz. Her trial date was set for June 16.
Information is available since the return of an arrest warrant that Jason Dean Smits, 37, of Jefferson has been charged with driving while license barred. The warrant was issued Jan. 27 and returned March 16.
